A flat-mount rear brake allows us to shape the chainstay entirely from carbon without the need to press or glue alloy parts, resulting in significant weight savings and increased strength. This also facilitates a symmetrical seat stay setup that keeps rear wheel transmitted loads symmetrical, thus improving shock alignment and reducing shock side loading.
